From the start

From the moment you hire me (and usually even before that), I’m on your team! It is so freakin’ fun for me to get to know each of my couples on a real, personal level, and it pays off in photos that really feel like you, too.
I limit the number of weddings I take each year so that every single one of my clients knows they have my undivided attention whenever and however they need me. From queer, size, and diversity inclusive vendor recommendations, to my exclusive-to-my-clients planning magazine and resources,
to going above and beyond for you whenever I can, I’m here for you every step of the way.
Wedding planning can be stressful, and crazy, and so dang fun- I’m here to help!

on your wedding day

I’ve been called a “bonus bridesmaid”, “like family”, and “a breath of fun, fresh air on an otherwise stressful day.”
Not to toot my own horn, but I’m pretty dang good at showing up for you in all the ways you’d want from your wedding photographer, and then some. Of course I’ll remind you to take the phone out of your pocket, capture all the moments that really matter (not just the planned ones), and let you know if you’ve got something in your teeth! But those are all the things you’d expect from a professional photographer! I go beyond that; like picking out locations ahead of time that will make your photos shine, like making sure everyone is as comfortable and happy as possible throughout the process to make for natural, gorgeous images, like pulling you and your freshly minted spouse outside for a moment during cocktail hour when the sunset is absolutely breath-taking, even if it’s not in the schedule, or checking in with you when I sense you need a break. My favorite compliment I get from clients regularly is what a great impression I’ve made on their wedding parties, families, and guests. When it comes down to it, weddings are about you two…but also about all your people! It’s important to me that they have an amazing experience, too, and that they’ll all be obsessed with your weddings photos, as well.

The coolest thing about this job? My clients aren’t the “Thanks for the photos, see ya never!” type. I’ve built my business on client referrals, and I’m incredibly thankful that most of my current clients are family members, friends, colleagues or classmates of folks who’ve hired me in the past. Whether you met me at a wedding I was shooting, came to me because your best friend was like “OMG YOU MUST HIRE AJ”, or just befriended me on the ‘gram, once you hire me, you’re part of my favorite club on earth. I love to cheer on all of my couples as they accomplish their dreams, and to be a resource for you no matter where you are in your wedding planning process.
After your wedding, I’m here for anniversary sessions, pregnancy photos, and family pics too
(including (and especially) if the newest members of your growing families have 4 paws).
