Floating World Gallery Wedding

I loved this Floating World Gallery Wedding. Theresa + Robbie go together like coffee and whiskey. Okay, so maybe that’s not a common saying, but whiskey-slinging Dehlilah’s bartendress Theresa and Sparrow Coffee roaster Robbie are proof that it should be. What I love most about these two is that they don’t take anything too seriously, least of all themselves, and aren’t shy to gush enthusiastically about all of the many things they’re passionate about: Lord of the Rings, punk rock, great coffee, fine liquors, delicious food and each other. This all carried over beautifully into their wedding at the Floating World Gallery in Lincoln Park, catered by local favorite Big Star Cantina and with pies by Spilt Milk Pastry, and with a killer bar stocked by the bride + groom themselves. Theresa and Robbie were styled impeccably with him in a striking blue suit and floral tie and her in a Pronovias gown and signature red lip and razor sharp winged eyeliner.

Theresa + Robbie’s Floating World Gallery wedding was perfect for them. After stopping for photos at the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pond, where they had their first date, we headed over to the artful and intimate venue for their crazy fun and emotional wedding. The best part about a wedding at the Floating World Gallery? An entire room as a designated dance floor! This bride and groom and their incredible families and friends made excellent use of it. I saw Theresa + Robbie destroy the dance floor at Rebecca + Vince’s wedding earlier this year (see if you can spot those two on the dance floor in the photos below!), but the only way I can describe how Theresa + Robbie obliterated the dance floor on their own wedding day is to show you in photos. At the end of the night, as I left Floating World Gallery, Robbie said to me, “AJ, I left it all on the dance floor for you.” You certainly did, guys. You most certainly did…
