Art Institute of Chicago Engagement Session

Jennifer and Kyle are, in their own words, “a classic ‘friendship turned romance’ couple.” They met on the first day of college and did many months of long distance before settling together in Chicago, and when it came time for their winter engagement session, we opted for a beautiful Chicago icon: the Art Institute of Chicago

ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO

The Art Institute of Chicago, with its grand Beaux-Arts architecture and world-renowned collection, offers a rich blend of culture and elegance that's hard to match. From the moment you step onto its sprawling grounds, you're greeted by the grandeur and magnificence that make this a perfect engagement session location.

For this Jennifer and Kyle, the Art Institute wasn't just a beautiful backdrop; it was a place that resonated with their shared love for art and history. As they strolled hand-in-hand through the museum's classic halls and modern galleries on a chilly winter Chicago morning, their connection blended seamlessly with the art surrounding them.

One of the highlights of the session was the use of natural light, which the Art Institute's architecture so generously provides. The museum’s iconic elements, such as the serene courtyards and grand staircases, offered a beautiful setting for a truly elegant indoor engagement session..

A long distance love story

For couples navigating the complexities of a long-distance relationship, every moment together becomes a cherished memory. When Jennifer + Kyle, who have been juggling time zones and miles for years, decided to get married after nearly 9 years together, they knew they wanted to capture this pivotal chapter of their lives in a way that reflected their unique journey. What better place to do that than the Art Institute of Chicago, a setting that mirrors their blend of elegance, affection, and deep connection?

Jennifer + Kyle’s engagement session continued in the Art Institute’s modern wing, where sleek lines and contemporary design contrasted beautifully with the historic charm of the museum. This juxtaposition mirrored their own love story: a blend of classic values and modern aspirations. The couple’s warm, neutral engagement session outfits and the crisp, clean lines of the modern architecture created a lovely visual narrative that spoke to their unique connection.
