Austin Engagement Session
Jessie and Justin are getting married in Houston, but with a shared love of Austin, Texas, we hit the road to meet up on a hot summer day for their Austin Engagement Session.
Austin, Texas
The capital of the state, Austin is a gorgeous, liberal, and crazy fun inland city chock full of great art, music, and food. It’s many parks and lakes are popular for outdoorsy types, and the amazing restaurant and bar scenes and even better. I loved meeting up with Jessie and Justin for their Austin Engagement session where we explored Austin’s urban charm and natural beauty.
A workplace love story
When Jessie and Justin first met, they decidedly were not going to get together, and certainly not for anything serious. But as these things often do, life had other plans and they were quickly inseparable. Before long, they were sharing a beautiful life of travel, exploring, and making each other laugh. Having gone to University of Alabama and University of Texas respectively (UT’s flagship campus is in Austin!), they also share a love of football smack talk.
So many of Austin’s popular photo spots are worth the hype. From the “I love you so much” mural to iconic views and signage on South Congress, this Austin Engagement Session ticked all the boxes, and capture the fun Jessie and Justin have exploring together.
After leaving the South Congress neighborhood, we headed over to Butler Park, which had beautiful views of the river and of the city of Austin behind it as the sun started to set.
I met Jessie and Justin at several weddings here in Chicago. They’re part of one of my longest “daisy chains,” the pet name I have for friendship groups that contain multiple clients. I’m so glad these two brought me to Texas for their engagement session, and I can’t wait to be back to photograph their wedding in the spring. The Texas flare they brought to their Austin engagement session for their third outfits was a huge hit!
